independent review of Children’s Social Care is now underway
You may have heard that an independent review of Children’s Social Care is now underway. This is a chance to look at what needs to change, looking at issues through the perspective of children and families throughout their interactions with Children’s Social Care. It is being called a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reform systems and services. The review will report to ministers and the government will publish a report and response.
The review will engage with children, young people, and adults with direct experience of children’s social care, to ensure those individuals’ views and lived experience are fully embedded in the review's work.
The first engagement events begin this month for parents and families, kinship carers, foster carers, young people and adults with care experience, and adopters. If you would like to share your experiences and views at one of these events please visit Childrens Social Care Independent Review
There will be more ways to get involved throughout the review, so that everyone who wants to will be able to have their voice heard. We will let you know about these as soon as we hear about them.
If you would like more information you can also read more about the review.
